Books BC appreciates Honourable Minister Popham’s Support for the BC Book Publishing Sector

April 16th, 2024
We would like to take this opportunity to share an example of the incredible support we’ve received from the Honourable Minister Popham, Minister for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. Minister Popham was the catalyst for starting BC Book Day ten years ago, which we celebrate at the Legislative Buildings each spring with a showcase of BC book publishers and the stories of our province. Now, Minister Popham has joined our advocacy efforts on a national level by encouraging the federal government “to step up, meet its public commitments and invest in the future survival of the publishing sector” via a letter to Canadian Heritage.
We are grateful for her passion and her commitment to culture and arts in our province! If you’d like to thank Minister Popham, you can tag her @lanapopham.
